SXU’s University Relations Team Earns Gold in 2022 Education Digital Marketing Awards
Saint Xavier University's (SXU) University Relations team has received multiple honors for the 10th Annual Education Digital Marketing Awards, which recognizes the best educational websites, digital content, electronic communications, mobile media and social media.
Over 1,000 entries were received from colleges and universities across the country and the national panel of judges consisted of education marketers, advertising creative directors, and marketing and advertising professionals.
All media is reviewed by the judges, who consider creativity, marketing execution, message impact, technology application and innovative content. Awards are given to institutions whose programs and materials display exceptional quality, creativity and message effectiveness.
Categories include marketing pieces such as institutional websites, social media content, web banners, blogs, email campaigns, digital publications, digital videos, online display ads and more.
SXU received Gold Awards for SXU News, the COVID-19 response campaign, the graduate nursing email campaign, Instagram and Twitter pages, the Counseling Center webpage, web takeover for Education Week advertising and social media content.
Awards were also received for several other areas, including digital special videos, digital video ads, other social media, newsletters, digital campaigns and more.
Saint Xavier, despite being a small school with less resources than the universities it competes with, is a powerhouse when it comes to its marketing efforts, producing deliverables comparable to those of larger schools. With a rich history and roots going back to 1846, SXU has shown marked resilience over the past 176 years, remaining focused on its mission to serve the underserved and its dedication to transforming lives through education, a remarkable journey University Relations works to showcase.
The University Relations team is heavily invested in service excellence, working to provide high-quality deliverables to departments across campus and with external partners, all with a major goal in mind: to highlight the SXU experience for current and prospective students, families, alumni and friends.
"As a marketing team, our approach to problem-solving is to align our work with the strategic priorities of the University, apply great focus and insight on highly-targeted audiences, and develop relevant, action-driven communications integrated across the institution. We've transitioned from a traditional marketing approach to a much more modern, integrated approach, leveraging technology and using data to make more informed, ever-improving decisions. These awards are recognition of meaningful collaboration with our SXU colleagues across the enterprise," said Deb Rapacz, AVP for marketing and communications.
In addition to their dedication to innovative, targeted marketing, the team is also committed to the Saint Xavier mission, working throughout the year to lead service projects that will make a difference in their communities. This year, the group collected toiletries, canned food and clothes for those in need in Ukraine; made up care packages consisting of fuzzy socks, chemo scarves, playing cards, word puzzles, lotions, lip balm, and blankets for cancer patients; and held a Thanksgiving food drive to benefit a local food pantry.
